Welcome to the first blog post for Vacations by Chrissy! We were recently having a discussion with our children about future career choices which made me think about my own. It’s hard to find a job you really love. My first real jobs were to gain experience to eventually get the job I then wanted – Advertising Copywriter. Fast forward seventeen years, three children, a couple part time jobs and I finally figured out what it is I truly want to do:
I want to be a travel consultant!
I LOVE travel! I know how to research and book trips. I’m knowledgeable about various locations and how the industry works. I already give tons of travel advice. So why not become a travel consultant and get paid to do what I’m already doing?
If you know me, then you know I love to travel! I love learning new things as I research a destination, having a trip to countdown the days to (especially during cold winter months), planning an exciting agenda and the anticipation of stepping off the plane in a new location. Travel is fun, relaxing, educational; and it is the best way to create new memories and stories that last a lifetime. Bringing dreams to life and seeing things you read about or see in movies for yourself is an unbelievable feeling. The beauty of The David, grandeur of the Colosseum, turquoise color of the Caribbean, sulfur smells from a volcano and flavors of foods authentically made are things that can only be experienced with travel. I love sharing my adventures with anyone that will listen, and I appreciate it when friends ask my advice on booking their own trips.
